Lets talk accessories....
What hedgehog in its right mind would not want accessories? Accessories can range from the 100% necessary to the 100% fun. Wheels for example are a must have as hedgehogs have plenty of energy and not much way to use it up.
On this page we will cover wheels, toys, pouches, liners and bowls.

Everyday I'm wheelin' wheelin'.....
There are many many different wheels all over the world that are suitable for a hedgehog. Some believe hedgehogs dont need wheels however those who have wheels know just how much time their little one spends on it and how much fun it is for them. (after all you have to clean up the mess the morning after). You will need to find a wheel that is 1) big enough for a hedgehog and 2) is not barred or has gaps as its dangerous for the hedgehogs feet to get caught as they run. Here are some of the wheels that I would suggest using and that are recommended by some of the best breeders in the UK and USA.
The Carolina Storm Wheel.
The Carolina storm wheel is made by Carolina storm hedgehogs. http://www.carolinastormhedgehogs.com/
The storm wheel is the first hedgehog wheel I truly fell in love with. Quiet but very larg
e and very easy to clean. The only real issue is that its made in the USA and has to be imported by UK hedgehog owners in order to gain such a fantastic wheel.
There are sometimes bulk orders sent from the UK of a few breeders/owners to help with import charges.
I would not suggest a Storm wheel to those who do not have much room however they are perfect for the larger hog.

The Carolina Bucket Wheel.
This wheel is also made by: http://www.carolinastormhedgehogs.com/
The bucket wheel comes in many colours and is small enough in size that it can handle a heavy hog but still leaves plenty of space. In my opinion not as easy to clean as the Storm wheel but still very manageable. Sadly I have found after under a year of owning the Bucket wheel its become very very squeaky and wobbly.

Pouches.
Pouches are used for the hedgehog to hide in and are brilliant for them to use to keep warm. They can be bought for around £4 - £8 each and can be fleece/fabric or double fleece. They are highly suitable because you can stick them in the washer whenever they need cleaning. They are something I have come to believe is a must have.
Liners.
Liners are something that can be used instead of sawdust ect, liners are good for absorbing urine, water and other hoggy mess. Once dirty stick them in the wash! Very easy and great for helping keep your hog warm. They can be bought for between £7 - £12 and can be fabric/fleece or double fleece. They are easy to pick up or search ebay.
