Anointing
What is it?
No one fully knows if its due to a dislike for a certain smell, taste or love for a certain smell or taste but any new and strong tasting/smelling items/food will have your little one turning its head, foaming at the mouth and proceeding to spit and using its tongue lather itself up.
Its cute, funny and interesting to see. Although gross to some people most hedgehog people love to see their hoggy enjoying itself.
At first you wonder....is my hog okay? is it having a funny turn? because it starts with the upper lip rising and a stretch of the body. Pictures below explain best.
Most young baby hogs will chew anything (fingers, carpet, clothing) to anoint over it, once used to the smell, taste ect they will stop.

Huffing
The breeder can only train the hedgehog so far....
So the likely hood is because of the age of the hedgehog and the big change of moving home, leaving its mother, siblings, familiar surroundings you will have a huffy hedgehog (quilling wont help matters). The breeder of your hedgehog can only do so much during the time frame and cant in anyway know how the hedgehog will react to a big change like moving home.
The ball is now in your court. You as the owner need to handle the hedgehog regularly to allow the hedgehog to get used to yourself, the surroundings and once its used to you and past quilling you should be left with a friendly happy hedgehog.
Your hedgehog wont get used to you if you refuse to handle it or give it attention. Firm handling and plenty of bonding is needed during the few weeks of moving home and quilling as this is by far one of the hardest times in a hedgehogs life.
