There are many different methods of keeping hedgehogs.
What's best?
Some like to keep hedgehogs in glass fronted viv's, some in mesh fronted viv's, some in Zoozone 2's and some in cages but which is best? Hopefully you will be able to decide that yourself. Every person has different requirements due to space in their home ect.
Vivariums.
Mesh Fronted.
Mesh fronted vivariums are widely used in the UK for hedgehogs. They allow good air flow whilst giving good visual and being able to stack they are very space friendly.
Glass Fronted.
The issue with glass fronted is you will NEED to put extra vents in the back to allow plenty of ventilation for the hedgehog. Glass is easy to clean, again stackable and a great hedgehog size. (3ft).
Zoozone 2.
Zoozone 2.
The zoozone 2 is a good hedgehog home, its roomy, air friendly and easy to clean. Many liners are zoozone 2 sized which fits perfectly in the cage. Although I like vivariums more I am not against using a zoozone 2 as they offer about the same as a vivarium (space wise).
You can pick them up for around £50-£60.

Wire cages....
Some hedgehog owners do use wire cages, this by many is not recommended as hedgehogs climb and can fall and injure themselves. Its best to avoid the risk all together than to hope your hedgehog doesn't sustain any major injury.
Substrate
If liners are not to your taste then suggested substrates used with hedgehogs are;
- Finacard. http://www.finacard-uk.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=22&products_id=93
- Carefresh (which you can get from any pet shop).
